TERROR TIME

This little story I had a great deal of fun with. I recalled my sister and I sharing a bunk bed for a time, when my mother couldn’t afford any more than a tiny rundown third-floor apartment, in an ancient leaky building. My sister used to kick the upper bunk to keep me from falling asleep. I think she counts her lucky stars that she’s still alive today.

THE LAST REGIMENT (Mainstream)

This is the first version of the same story in the first collection (Breathing in the Past) that I had written after leaving Newfoundland for Victoria BC. I like this one more, probably because it was the first version written. It’s subtle and not much is revealed until the end of the story. Some found it strangely weird because I had used words in an unconventional way (or wrong way) until they read the ending.

CRIMSON HEARTS

This story followed a story by Dean Koontz and is one of my favorites. It’s very short and to the point. I’ve had it on various websites of mine over the past few years. It also appeared as a reprint in the HELP anthology a couple years later in the USA.
